Field Meaning

Network Setting Enable NAT

: Check the appropriate box to enable address

translation (NAT) (Recommended).

Enable DHCP

: Check the appropriate box to activate the

modem/router's "DHCP client" function.

WAN IP Address

This field is active only when the "DHCP client" function is deactivated

(Enable DHCP field check box not checked).

Enter a WAN IP address.

WAN Subnet Mask

This field is active only when the "DHCP client" function is deactivated

(Enable DHCP field check box not checked).

Enter a WAN subnet mask.

PPPoE

Field Meaning

Network Setting Enable NAT

: Check the appropriate box to enable address

translation (NAT) (Recommended).

Authentication

Select one of the proposed authentication modes (CHAP or PAP).

User Name

Enter the user name (32 characters maximum) supplied by your

Internet Service Provider (ISP).

Password Enter the password (32 characters maximum) supplied by your Internet

Service Provider (ISP).

Dialling

Select:

AUTO

: The PPPoE link will be set up only if there is traffic on the

ADSL line.

DIRECT

: The PPPoE link will always be set up even if there is no

traffic on the ADSL line.

Select DIRECT (Recommended).

Idle timeout (min)

Enter a delay (expressed in minutes) after which the PPPoE link will

disconnect in the absence of Internet traffic.
